Chelsea Favourites against Bournemouth in League Cup Quarter-Finals

Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea take on Bournemouth at the Stamford Bridge looking to reach the semifinals of the League Cup. This quarter-final match is unlikely to be an entertainer in terms of goals, as Maurizio Sarri is likely to warn his team about a stern action after giving him some now is time in the recent win over Brighton. Despite dominating for most of the game, the blues had to hold on for a victory against the Seagulls during the weekend. Bournemouth have the capability to score goals and that this will be on the minds of Chelsea, who like to dictate possession. However, Chelsea have yet to hit the heights of last season.

Even though Chelsea have suffered some disappointing results in away matches under Maurizio Sarri, the blues remain unbeaten under the Italian at Stamford Bridge. It is not surprising that Chelsea are given a price of just 5/18 in order to reach the semifinals with an half-time. The blues were able to get a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth earlier in the campaign and this victory came on Stamford Bridge’s pitch. It is not a surprise that Bournemouth are given a longer price of 33/4 in order to get a victory over Chelsea inside normal time. Theodds of 17/4 for a penalty shootout is quite attractive.

Bohemians vsSligo Rovers Betting Tips and Preview

Bohemians are involved in a bottom half clash with Sligo Rovers during the weekend. The two teams are rather close to the relegation zone and will be concerned about the potential possibility of dropping down a division. Only two points separate the two teams coming into the match.Bohemians were able to register a couple of points in recent matches but they have still been unable to pull away from the relegation places. SinceBohemians have a two-point advantage, they will be able to stretch the advantage to 5 points with the victory. Back when the two teams met each other in May,Bohemians were able to overcome the opposition by scoring two goals in the second half.

However, the meeting was characterised by a lack of goalmouth action in great numbers. The two teams may have been quite satisfied with the draw, but the manner in whichBohemians claimed a victory would be difficult to repeat this time around. In the last six matches,Sligo Rovers have been able to go through a decent run of form. They will be looking to get the advantage overBohemians owing to this good form but it is difficult to expect a lot of goalmouth action in this game. Majority of the recent matches for both teams have witnessed less than 2.5 goals. There is a great possibility of choosing this option at 8/13.

SAM ALLARDYCE: THE CAT WITH PREMIER LEAGUE LIFE

Sam ‘Big Sam’ Allardyce once opined that top English Premier League clubs would havechasedhim vigorously had his name sounded Italian – an obvious tongue-in-cheekreference to the dearth of English men at the helm of affairs of top English clubs.

His argument wasn’t farfetched, opining that if he could get the results he got despite the small budgets and being under the whims of bigger fishes, who had what it took to pluck vital players off your team with the caprice of an interest and stroke of a pen; then it was only logical he would achieve far more success if given the chance at a bigger club where he wouldn’t have to worry about tight budgets and every other ugly duckling that befall small clubs.

Only the English national team offered reasonable chance to men of English origin to be in charge of a team brimming with talent. With the FA’s sacking of Roy Hodgson and the media-drums of Big Sam’s name, the 62-year old took the opportunity with both hands. Continue reading
